What is Psychotherapy?

Integrative Therapy

My approach to therapy is integrative, trauma-informed, relational, and somatic (body-oriented) — drawing from different psychotherapy modalities unique to clients’ needs.

In our work together, I hope to create a non-pathologizing space of safety, warmth, play, and trust so that you may explore the challenges you have been facing, and experience movement toward well-being. I work from an anti-oppressive framework and am inclusive of gender identity and expression, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation.

Our process will be collaborative.
I integrate creativity into sessions to help individuals feel more embodied, drawing on Art Therapy training from Metàfora in Spain. Learn more about art therapy here

Anti-Oppressive Care

I am attuned to how broader systems can impact clients’ experiences of feeling unheard, marginalized, or disempowered. I am mindful of the social locations I occupy. Dominant models of psychology both directly and indirectly, “have served to strengthen oppressive structures, by drawing attention away from them and toward individual factors” (Ignacio Martín-Baró, Writings for a Liberation Psychology, 1994). I am committed to examining the systems I work within and decolonizing the ways in which I practice, through liberatory-oriented trainings.
